The first DVD of Suzanna Lubrano – “Live at Off Corso” – is already on the market. A work that presents the Cape Verdean singer at her best in a concert “live” in one of the most beautiful venues in Rotterdam and with guests that show the increasingly universal nature of her music. Without doubt, a DVD that can not be missed in the best collection.

Fofo, Razao d’Nha Vida, and Distancia are four out of 17 songs that Suzanna performs at Live at Off Corso. Highlights also include Nha Sonho, Silencio, Nunca Mas, and Festa Mascarado, songs on which the melody and sweetness of the voice of the singer from Porto Ribeira Barca come to excite the listener. “It was difficult to choose which songs to record for this DVD. But I believe I have made a good selection,”, expressed Suzanna.

The winner of the Kora Award for Best Female Artist in 2003 was equally happy with the choice of guests for this concert: Candy Dulfer, Dutch saxophonist, David Goncalves, a singer known from the celebrated “Idols” in its Dutch version, and especially Lantuna, Batuco group formed by men and women who give a touch of Creole on Hijo de la Luna and Homi di Branco. Lantuna are the only guests entitled to act in a solo show.

The quality of this DVD is also caused by the quality of the Dutch band that accompanies Suzanna Lubrano. “It’s a great pleasure to work with them. Besides good musicians they are my friends and my fans. They are always ready to play my music, anywhere”, says the singer.

But this DVD still leaves out many of the great songs Suzanna Lubrano did throughout the years. “Part of what I’ve done in my 15 year career, is on this DVD. The rest will follow on a second DVD”, says the singer.

Suzanna Lubrano confesses that, day and night, she is just thinking about music: “I can not stop thinking about music. I am always writing new lyrics and now that I learned to play guitar I also do arrangements. And one day, God willing, I perform on stage with my guitar.”

Friday, August 27, Suzanna Lubrano and Lantuna will present a modern version of the Batuku by performing Suzanna’s “Homi di Branco” at the opening show of the Netherlands cultural season in Amsterdam, the Uitmarkt. Supported by the New Cool Collective Big Band, Suzanna and Lantuna will perform on Amsterdam’s Musemplein, televized live on the Nederland 2 TV network around 9pm.

Sunday, August 29, Suzanna Lubrano will present highlights of her musical career at a show at the “Bruisend Park aan de Rotte” Festival in Rotterdam. She’ll perfom classic hits like “Tudo Pa Bo”, “Razao d’nha Vida”, “Recorda Passado” and “Nha Sonho” and recent songs like “Festa Mascarado”, “Quentura Tropical” and “Pensa Na Mi”. The show start at 5.45 pm at Rotterdam’s Noordplein. If you’re in Holland, be there !

“The moon was full and bright when Suzanna Lubrano, accompanied by a fully trained Dutch band, took the stage to present the public with a journey on her rich and distinguished musical career.

Friendly, sensual and sweet voiced, worked well to play in to the anxiety that had seized the public, caused by the delay that had been subjected in the opening of the show.

But it was worth the wait! Lubrano and her Dutch friends did an excellent show playing familiar themes from her discography such as “Recorda Passado” “Pensa Na Mi” and “Festa Mascarado” and the culmination, “Tudo Pa Bo”, before an audience of thousands of admirers who wanted and asked for more.

And the nice Suzanna wanted to give more of her time but was not allowed to because of the late hour.”

Baia das Gatas is televized live on TCV. Suzanna Lubrano’s closing show at the festival can be seen live on sunday August 22, 9 PM local time.

Suzanna Lubrano will perform classic hits such as Fofo, Razao d’nha Vida, Nha Sonho and Tudo Pa Bo, as well as more recent success songs like Saida, Quentura Tropical and Festa Mascarado.
