Suzanna’s three days in Mozambique’s capital Maputo have been very successful. Friday’s show was followed by a second show on saturday night at the same beautiful Coconut Club. The show, which was originally scheduled for 8 PM, was rescheduled for half past midnight due to saturday afternoon’s unfavourable weather conditions. Just like friday, tracks from Suzanna’s second album Fofó were the highlights of the event, this time including Recorda Passado. All in all, the reception of Suzanna in Mozamique has been very warm. Suzanna’s days in Maputo were made possible by Mozambique’s mobile phone company Mcel. She has given a number of tv interviews and her Turo pa bo videoclip is clip of the week again in the Top Ten tv show. Suzanna hopes to return to Mozambique in 2006, after the release of her new album.

Suzanna received a very warm welcome at her first show in Mozambique in over five years. Last night, Maputo’s beautiful half open Coconut Club was packed with an enthousiastic crowd. Classics like Razao d’nha vida and Fofó were sang along en masse. It was the first time for Suzanna to perform Maz um voz live on stage, a track that will also appear in a remixed version on her new album. Last night’s show lasted for some 90 minutes. Tonight, Suzanna will give a second performance in Coconuts, an event which is expected to be partly attended by children.
Suzanna has arrived today in Maputo, the capital of Mozambique in Southern Africa. Right after arrival, she gave a press conference for some 20 tv, radio and newspaper journalists. She has some more interviews tomorrow and her shows will be friday and saturday at the Coconuts. Friday’s show will start half past midnight, saturday’s show will be a children’s event starting at 8 PM. Suzanna’s latest track Maz um Voz is currently a huge success in Mozambique.
While Suzanna is working hard recording her new album, she has found the time to travel to Mozambique in the middle of all this. The two shows in Maputo will be the only live shows this year. The first shows that will take place next year will be the album release parties. The Maputo shows, taking place on October 28 and 29, promise to be exciting, since it is the first time in many years for Suzanna to return to Mozambique.
Suzanna is recording her new album in the legendary Blue Jay Recording Studio in Carlisle, Massachusetts, USA. The Blue Jay Recording Studio was originally built in 1979. Three years ago, after it was bought by Marcus Siskind and ‘Backstreet Boy’ Kevin Richardson, the studio was completely renovated. Throughout the years, many well established artists made their recordings in Blue Jay, amongst them Aerosmith, Boston, Roy Orbison, Billy Joel, K.D. Lang, Carly Simon, Tom Jones, Alice Cooper and Terence Trent D’Arby. Recently, the studio welcomed artists like Lauryn Hill and John Legend. In the coming weeks, Suzanna will frequently have her base in Blue Jay, expecting to finish all recordings by the end of the year.
