In the past week, Suzanna was in the United States for both new recordings and shows on friday and saturday.

In Blue Jay Recording Studio in Massachusetts, Suzanna recorded four new tracks for her upcoming 2009 release, 100% Zouk. Two of those songs were done with The Heavy Weights.

After the recording sessions, Suzanna had sold out events in Brockton, Massachusetts (friday night) and Providence, Rhode Island (last night).

The crowds were great, and many in the audience were singing Suzanna’s hits word by word. After an audience request, Suzanna ended last night’s performance in Providence with the classic Razao d’nha vida, from her second album Fofo.

Last night, November 14, Suzanna Lubrano performed at the closing dinner of a conference organized by the Club of Madrid and the City of Rotterdam.

This ‘Global Forum on Leadership for Shared Societies’ was entitled ‘Building a world safe for difference’. The Club of Madrid is an independent organization dedicated to strengthening global democracy. As a forum of ex world leaders it brings together a ‘unique experience and resource’ of former heads of states and governments.

Among the participants of the conference were the former presidents Bill Clinton (US), Mary Robinson (Ireland) and Belisario Betancur (Colombia). The guest list also boasted a great number of prime ministers, such as Kjell Magne Bondevik (Norway), Kim Campbell (Canada) and António Guterres Oliveira (Portugal).

At last night’s closing dinner, Suzanna performed five songs. Halfway the performance many of the guests left their dinner tables and started to dance. Highlight was the very danceable ‘Homi di Branco’. The current president of Suriname, Ronald Venetiaan, came on stage to thank Suzanna and her band.
