A number of Cape Verdeans who have distinguished themselves in the artistic and sports sectors, were condecorated yesterday for their achievements. Suzanna Lubrano is one of those artists whoe were condecorated by the President of the Republic of Cape Verde, Mr. Pedro Pires.
Suzanna Lubrano received the “1ª classe da Medalha do Vulcão”, the 1st class Medal of the Volcano. Among the other artists to receive this “1ª classe da Medalha do Vulcão” are Lura, Mayra Andrade, Gil Semedo, Boy G Mendes and Teofilo Chantre.
50 years ago, the first large group of African countries became independent. To mark this event, a CD box of 18 albums is released this week: “Africa. 50 years of music”. The album contains six volumes, each volume containing 3 CD’s focussing on one of six African regions. The albums contain many great African artists, including Miriam Makeba and Fela Kuti, Youssou N’Dour and Oum Kalthoum, Manu Dibango and Franco, Cesaria Evora and Salif Keita, Alpha Blondy and Rokia Traore.
Suzanna Lubrano is also present in this CD-box, including her biggest chart success “Tudo Pa Bo”.
